Double Curved Staircase Project – A Staircase To Rival All Staircases
A home deserving of a grandiose welcome upon entry, the request was to make iron railings for a brand-new metal staircase the homeowner already had contracted and was partially in place already. In discussing the job during the consultation, our design expert was considering all the design angles and ultimately how form would meet function and had to raise a concern about how hollow and noisy the foyer would be with the existing custom metal staircases.
On our good word and design eye, the customer tore out the stairs that he already commissioned to the tune of $120,000 and proceeded with the Dream Ironwork expert vision for the rails of this majestic double staircase and its upper hallway balcony. The customer had a taste for traditional scrollwork, extended the challenge.
It became a challenge of geometry; fitting the elaborate scroll for the upper balcony then fitting it on a parallelogram to visually flow with the scrollwork on the double curved stair rails, all with the homeowner’s monogram cleverly disguised in the scroll. The End result? The customer was beside himself when he saw the final product and now, this particular client continues to call upon the artistry of the Dream Ironwork team with very simple direction and an unshakable confidence of the end result.
